Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta Rioja Blanco Barrel Fermented

Bodegas Martínez Lacuesta was founded in 1895 in Haro by Félix Martínez Lacuesta. He was a winemaker, a lawyer, a politician, a marketing man, and the first president of the National Association of Wine-growers and Wine-producers, as well as the Rioja Wine Union. In addition he represented bodega owners in the setting-up of the Regulatory Body of the Rioja D.O.

This white Rioja is produced using the Viura grape variety. It is matured on its lees for a period of three months using new casks; a mix of American oak, French oak and acacia wood.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Pale yellow in colour with hints of green.

Subtle toasted oak and prominent citrus aromas supported by apple, banana and light spices.

On the palate, it has a crisp and fresh attack, with a hint of American oak and a persistent fruity finish.
