Built in 1898, on the banks of the river Spey, Caperdonich distillery was decommissioned permanently and subsequently dismantled brick by brick in 2011.
Even in its heyday this tiny distillery only ever produced whisky in small batches.
Matured in American oak barrels, and non-chill filtered, this is a layered and complex 21 year old single malt.
Gentle peat and bonfire embers come together with warm cedar and mandarin orange.
Long and smoky, the finish leaves a subtle taste of liquorice and herbs.
