Unlike most champagnes – that are made from grapes bought by the winery, or wines bought by the winery – this is a wine made at an estate made from grapes grown on the estate. This allows the producer more control over the quality controls applied to the wine. Chateau de Bligny’s standards are high. This wine is a blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It has spent long enough on its lees to show ripe fruit characteristics and some nutty characteristics. It is rich enough to be a good accompaniment for seafood and white meats – and flavour-some enough to be had by itself.
It comes individually packed in a foil-decorated box.
