Château du Val d’Or Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Château du Val d’Or sits at the most southerly edge of the Saint-Émilion zone, along the banks of the river Dordogne.

Val d’Or crafts right-bank wines, echoing left-bank Medoc style. The blend: 86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Maturation spans 18 months, 50% in new French oak, remainder in old oak and stainless steel.

The aroma is refined and expressive, with hints of black fruits and roasted almonds.

Upon swirling, delicate smoked and burnt aromas emerge, complemented by notes of marzipan.

The palate delivers a pure and robust attack, showcasing black fruit flavours with subtle undertones of spices such as pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Balanced and generous, the wine concludes with an elegant and enduring finish.
