Bergerac is a region just west of the more famous and prestigious Bordeaux where it produces exceptional value in a similar style from the same grapes used in Bordeaux.
This is a wine made from 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Produced by the 5th generation family guardians of the Trouillet estate from just 22 hectares of vineyards. The wine is aged for 6-8 months in steel tanks to promote harmony and balance in the wine and allow the fresh varietal flavours and aromas to shine through.
This is an easy drinking Bordeaux-style wine without the hefty oak, or indeed, the hefty price tag! A perfect wine to leisurely enjoy with friends. Lots of fresh red fruits and plums with fine, smooth tannins and a medium body with a pleasingly long finish.
