Cloudy Bay ‘Te Wahi’ Pinot Noir

Te Wahi in the native Maori language of New Zealand means ‘where’. This premium example of Pinot Noir is a wine with a sense of place, a sense of ‘where’ and a sense of Te Wahi.

Blended from the best select vineyards in Central Otago. The schist, mica and quartz soils of Bannockburn, Bendigo and Lowburn produce this wine of unbridled character and personality. Fermented with wild yeasts for 2-3 weeks and matured in French oak barrels for 14 months (40% new).

The Te Wahi Pinot Noir is a beautifully structured and rich example of New World Pinot, full of complexity and concentration. Earthy, smoky aromas mingle with some lifted floral character and gentle sweet spices of cinnamon and clove. On the palate bursts rich cherry and plum complemented by fresh acidity and supple smooth tannins. It has a hauntingly long finish.
