Diamantakis Diamantopetra White

Founded in 2007, Diamantakis is a modern winery located in Crete, to the south-west of Heraklion in the heart of the Malevizi province.

The love and passion of the Diamantakis family for high quality wine and their long tradition in viticulture was the motivation to create a small winery in the area.

The family’s vision was the cultivation of local grape varieties such as Vidiano, Liatiko and Mandilaria, to produce their best expression in this unique microclimate.

This wine is a blend of 50% Assyrtiko – 50% Vidiano. Assyrtiko is a very popular Greek variety whereas Vidiano is an upcoming Cretan variety.

Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks, separate for each grape variety. The alcoholic fermentation is completed in oak barrels where the wine matures on its fine lees for three months; 80%  French oak and 20% of American oak.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Bright, pale yellow in colour.

Elegant aromas of pineapple, apricot and chamomile followed by vanilla, nuts and oak.

It is full bodied on the palate, with crisp acidity that integrates nicely allowing the fruit to be properly expressed.

The finish is long, leaving a wonderful aftertaste of apricot and vanilla hints.
