This Saumur-Champigny is a delightfully soft and smooth red made from Vieilles Vignes (old vines) Cabernet Franc.
Situated in the central area of the Loire Valley, Saumur-Champigny is an appellation mostly known for producing high-quality red wines from the Cabernet Franc grape, locally known as Breton. Run by a dynamic wife and husband team of Pascale Lavigne & Antonie Veron, they own just 38 hectares, with 36 being devoted to Cabernet Franc. Cultivation is always as sustainable as possible, with a minimum intervention approach.
Production is focused on making fresh, fruity and fun wines. Fermented in stainless steel this Cabernet Franc shows juicy raspberry and blackberry fruit alongside minerally notes and graphite. The palate is generous with a refreshing dryness and clean acidity. This is perfect served when slightly chilled.
