Jura produce their whisky for a loyal fanbase. They produce a range of whiskies at different peating leavels. This is the peatiest. It is named after a prophecy that was fulfilled in 1938 when the last Campbell left the island of Jura penniless. The whisky itself is matured in French and American oak barrels that were used to contain bourbon and sherry previously. It is very peaty and quite full-bodied with the sherry influence providing dried fruit characteristics and some sweetness to lend balance to the whisky on the palate.
