This is an outstanding example of a fine wine made from Viura in Rioja. It was fermented in steel vats to maintain the fresh fruit flavours of the wine – malolactic conversion was prevented as well – and then aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. The result is a well oaked white wine with a full body and characteristics of pear, melon, tangerine, dry flowers, vanilla plus some toast and clove. Robert Parker says that it’s not a wine for everybody (while giving it 91 points), maybe he wants to keep it all for himself?!
