This Tannat is made by El Porvenir and has been inspired by the first principle of Andean life: Love. Munay means love in the ancient language of Quechua.
The vineyards are situated 1,650 meters above sea level at Finca El Retiro in Cafayate, Salta. The grapes are selected from vines aged 65 years old and are hand-harvested. Pre-fermentation maceration for 6 days followed by 15 days of fermentation at warm temperatures. Post-fermentation maceration is given for 10 days with a spontaneous malolactic conversion. The wine is unoaked to emphasis the purity and varietal expression fully.
Aromas of meat, spice, eucalyptus, menthol, and figs followed by a palate that is intense with fine natured tannins and ripe fruit. Refreshing acidity helps balance the wine. This is a pure expression of Tannat which is smooth, supple and restrained.
