Rathfinny is a staunch promoter of all things English, particularly when it comes to wine, being at the forefront of the expansion of hectares under vine.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Rathfinny have launched the 2016 Classic Cuvée. This is first ever vintage of this expression and is a Pinot Noir dominated blend with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, from the estate grown grapes.
The estate’s sheltered, south-facing vineyards, and their proximity to the English Channel, enable the Rathfinny team to produce ripe, healthy fruit. This in turn allows the team to produce the new Classic Cuvée with a dosage of just 5 grams per litre, which is comparatively low.
57% Pinot Noir, 22% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Meunier, 36 months on lees.
Radiant lemon in hue, with an expressive nose of fresh red orchard apples, a creamy tangerine mousse punctuated by toasty notes of almond brittle, and a honeydew melon finish.
