Rutherford Hill gained its reputation as a producer of exceptional Merlot.
It is a Terlato Family winery whose ambition is to produce great wines.
For this Merlot, they adopt a centuries’ old winemaking technique. First used in the 18th c,entury, the technique calls for the addition of Syrah to the blend.
Together with the Merlot, winemaker Marisa Taylor included Cabernet Sauvignon for structure, and Syrah for body, character and heft.
It is aged for 16 months in French oak casks.
