Taylor’s Velvet Falernum

Taylor’s Velvet Falernum, a traditional Barbados sweet alcoholic cordial, serves as the essential ingredient for crafting Caribbean drinks.

It features a Rum base and includes sugar cane, lime, almond, and cloves in its production.

When mixed with Barbados rum and bitters over ice, it becomes a crucial element in the Barbados cocktail Corn ‘n’ Oil.

John D Taylor of Bridgetown first created Taylor’s Velvet Falernum in 1890.

Foursquare Rum Distillery in St. Philip, Barbados, produces it, distinguishing itself as one of the few remaining independent family-owned producers in the Caribbean.
