This is a wine that is perhaps most famous for beating Latour at a blind tasting in 1970. Forty vintages on it still offers a magnificent expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from a region in Spain that is best know for producing grapes for Cava production. The wine spends time maturing in French oak barriques and develops aromas and flavours of toast, cinnamon and nutmeg to complement the rich blackcurrant, bramble and Morello cherry fruit characteristics. Delicious!
