Although it is a less prestigious appellation than the neighbouring village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the wines of Vacqueyras can be every bit as good. The vines that produce this wine are at least 50 years old and yield tiny quantities of quite ripe fruit. This wine is fermented in concrete tanks and stored for six months to a year in large and small oak barrels and aged in cellar at the winery for up to 18 months before release Ð to ensure that only vintages that are (just) ready to drink are shipped to us and sold to you.
