Hook Head 1.1 is the first edition of this whiskey and is made using Irish Propino malted barley grown at the ‘Hook Head Farm’.
The whisky has been aged for over 3 years and 8 months in multiple cask types including first-fill, virgin US and French Oak.
Head Distiller’s Observations:
Appearance: Straw with legs of oils coating the glass.
Nose: Earthy maltiness & fresh soil, citrus peel, breadcrust, clove, white pepper, caramel, milk chocolate, salted popcorn, barnyard, oak green foliage.
Taste: It is a spice bomb up front, with cloves, white pepper, salted caramel, liquorice, ginger biscuits, lemon zest, & chilli chocolate on the palate.
Finish: Dry, but it leaves a lasting oiliness that holds the spiciness for a long time.
