Auchentoshan are the only distillery in Scotland that do three distillations to get their spirit. This yields a spirit that is lighter in flavour and body than most others. This expression sees that light and aromatic spirit given a very intense maturation in three different types of cask. Ex-bourbon barrels impart some vanilla and toast characteristics, Oloroso butts impart dried fruit and nut characteristics, and Pedro Ximenez barrels impart prune and sultana aromas and flavours to the whisky.
