The Cormerais family have cultivated vines since the 1800s and the passion for winemaking and grape growing has been passed down through generations.
Today it is Bertrand who runs the business having joined his father Joel in 1994. His philosophy is very simple – he starts in the vineyard with great attention to detail to produce the very best grapes he can while maintaining great respect for the environment.
The specific Clisson granite soils crumble easily, allowing roots to go deep and with an average vine age of 30 Years, the grapes here produce powerful, rich wines with a beautiful minerality.
Increased texture and smoothness is obtain through 40 months of ageing on lees, and periodic lees stirring for the first year.
