Graham’s Ten Year Old Tawny port is a wine made in a very different way to that of it’s ruby cousin. Stylistically, it is a cross between an aged sherry such as an Amontillado or Oloroso and a madeira wine. By using similar techniques to both sherry and madeira, the process of oxidative ageing and by exposing the wine to heat gives it the distinct nutty, caramel, toffee and dried fruit profile that tawny port is known for. The Graham’s is a top class example of how great tawny port can be. This has been aged for an average of 10 years from lots of different aged barrels to produce a consistent house style. Try it chilled and/or with vanilla ice-cream: delicious!
