Henriot’s signature style can simply be encapsulated by the sovereignty of one grape variety: Chardonnay. Like Ruinart, their cuvees are led by this noble grape variety.
Located in the heart of the City of Reims, the Champagne capital, Henriot pride themselves on sourcing grapes from the best terroirs of the Cote de Blancs for top grade Chardonnay from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards and the Montagne de Reims for equally prestigious vines of Pinot Noir and Meunier.
The Brut Souverain is the Henriot style in a nutshell. Clean, pure and complex. The wine is aged in excess of 3 years, well over double the legal minimum, and use a high amount of reserve wines in the blend (30%). The result is a poised and focused pure expression of top quality premium Champagne.
On the nose, the Champagne offers magnificent, vivacious character. Citrus fruit aromas are followed by a cavalcade of floral bouquets, elderberry and vine blossom. Delicious brioche notes and the simplicity of lightly toasted bread and roasted almonds. Well balanced and harmonious on the palate, summoning flavours of brioche, together with crunchy cherries and the sun-kissed blush of white peach. Clean on the finish, with all the freshness of just-picked walnuts.
