Cristal was the world’s first cuvee prestige. It was invented for Tsar Nicholas II and presumably only available to the public after 1917. The 60% Pinot Noir in the blend (with the balance made up with Chardonnay) makes this an attractive and forward wine from the moment it is released. It ages beautifully in the right conditions though and will keep for a special occasion – even decades from the vintage.
Cristal 2015 is farmed 100% biodynamically.
