In 1860, Strega Liqueur began its journey, drawing inspiration from the ancient legend that situates Benevento as the historical hub of witches’ gatherings.

According to lore, witches from around the globe convened nightly around a mystical walnut, concocting a magic elixir designed to bind couples for eternity.

Strega Liqueur stands as one of Italy’s most renowned liqueurs, distinguished by its unique and unmistakable flavour derived from a meticulous selection of natural ingredients.

The process commences with the grinding of approximately 70 herbs and spices sourced globally, each possessing distinct properties. Among these botanicals are Ceylon cinnamon, Florentine iris, Italian Apennine juniper, and Samnite mint, flourishing along the riverbanks of the region. The infusion achieves its characteristic yellow hue from the addition of precious saffron to the herb distillate.

Following this, Strega Liqueur undergoes ageing in ash barrels for an extensive period, facilitating the harmonious blending of its diverse aromas. The resulting distillate boasts a proof of 40%, and only after the ageing process is complete does the liqueur undergo bottling and global distribution.
