Diamantakis Petali Liatiko is a rich Greek red wine made using classic vinification techniques with a red fruit palate.

Founded in 2007, Diamantakis is a modern winery located in Crete, to the south-west of Heraklion in the heart of the Malevizi province.

The love and passion of the Diamantakis family for high quality wine and their long tradition in viticulture motivated them to create a small winery in the area.

The family’s vision was the cultivation of local grape varieties such as Vidiano, Liatiko and Mandilaria, to produce their best expression in this unique microclimate.

The grape variety of this wine, Liatiko, is one of the most cultivated, native red varieties of the Cretan vineyard. Liatiko has a complex character that makes its cultivation and vinification very difficult.

This wine is produced using classic red vinification techniques, extraction takes between 5 – 7 days.

It ferments at low temperatures in order to preserve the fruity character and the freshness of the grape variety.

Bottling takes place 12 months after vinification.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Diamantakis Petali Liatiko is red with cherry highlights. Its aromas suggest raisins, caramel, fig, strawberry, plum and blackberry, followed by scents of cinnamon and clove.

Medium in body with balanced acidity and tannins, which then give a juicy and pleasant aftertaste.
