Bodega Staphyle Iris Doble Malbec is created on the Bodega Staphyle wine estate, which was born of the Porretta’s family dream to produce their wines. This all started in 2002 because the family rebuilt their winery which had originally been established in the 1930s.
Today this boutique winery marries that tradition with the latest in winemaking technology to produce harmonious wines.
The vineyards are located in the area of Ugarteche and Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, known as the first wine region of Argentina.
This may be from a relatively small bodega in size, but it produces wines that are the envy of some of its larger competitors. Wines from this Mendoza producer offer some of the very best value in this thriving wine-producing country.
The Bodega Staphyle Iris Doble Malbec is ruby red in colour, with purple hints. It has a complex and singular aroma, based on the nature of the grape variety; red fruit notes, such as plums and cherries. 30% of the wine matures in French oak barrels.
This is a bright, juicy red made for easy drinking. It will perfectly complement a hearty meal, especially red meat like Argentinian steak or a barbecue.
