Craigellachie 13 Year Old Speyside Single Malt is a rich, fruity Scotch which acts as a great introduction to this distillery’s meaty style.
Craigellachie is the rock at the heart of Speyside, yet is anything but your typical ‘Speyside’ whisky. Considered old fashioned even in 1891, its fruity, muscular flavour stems from the use of worm tub condensers. It is this full, yet aromatic, character that defies expectations and imbues the spirit with extra flavour.
Craigellachie 13 Year Old initially matures in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. 50% of the ‘blend’ is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks, the rest in first-fill Bourbon.
All Craigellachie expressions are non-chill filtered, contain no caramel colouring and are bottled at 46% ABV. For those seeking a whisky of character and authenticity, Craigellachie is a notable choice.
