Champagne Germar Breton Brut

Champagne Germar Breton Brut is a beautifully refreshing champagne from one of our favourite small growers.

The grapes here are hand harvested and spend between 24 and 36 months on the lees. The wines then went through malolactic fermentation prior to bottling so the style is fairly easy-drinking with 8g/l dosage.

This family have been cultivating the vineyards of Aube since the 1950s. In 1989 Laurent Breton, youngest among his brothers, together with his wife Karine Breton decided launch their own winemaking activity in the Côte des Bars area near the village of Colombé-la-Fosse.

In 2005, eager to develop their own Champagne, they decided to launch “Champagne Germar Breton”, produced and elaborated by Laurent Breton himself. Though a young house, they are certainly one to keep an eye on!

Grapes: Chardonnay 65% & Pinot Noir 35%

Enjoy Champagne Germar Breton Brut as a chilled aperitif, or pair with seafood like oysters and scallops.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

The perfumed and rich nose expresses scents of yellow fruits, grilled fruits, toasted walnuts and honey.

The structured, fresh and long mouth combines with elegance flavours of apple, red and exotic fruits.

Numerous fine bubbles bring richness to the palate, with light vegetal notes and a hint of almond on the finish.
