Cremant de Loire Domaine du Landreau Esprit 2016 is a beautifully rich and balance sparkling wine made using the traditional method.
The designation of Cremant de Loire AOC was introduced in 1975 to provide France with a widely recognizable, high quality Loire sparkling wine title. It provides a reliable alternative to Champagne.
A blend of Chardonnay with classic Loire varietals Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc, the grapes for this wine were harvested by hand over several passes through the vineyard. Vinification then takes place in the traditional Champagne method at cool temperatures. Following this, the wine aged on its lees for five years for a rich, briochey flavour.
The winemakers – the fourth generation of the Morin family – are based in the Coteaux du Layon appellation. They operate vineyards across a range of the Loire’s most famous wine-producing villages.
Enjoy Cremant de Loire Domaine du Landreau Esprit 2016 well chilled as an aperitif. It also shines alongside seafood and white meat-based canapes.
Tasting Notes
This wine showcases the perfect balance of citrus blossom, green apple, and lemon with roasted, nutty, brioche notes. The body is soft and silky, with soft bubbles lending a gentle creaminess. A deliciously moreish wine!
