Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old – Batch 3 is an extremely rare and unusual Scotch whisky.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan is produced in small batches and released year on year; it is exceptionally rare and ever-changing. It masterfully performs the impossible – balancing the lull and crescendo of its intense flavours. Bottled under a full moon, the tides have turned for this unusual spirit as more mentholic, herbal notes rush the senses, with intense smoke left behind in its peaty wake.
This 19 year old whisky draws its inspiration from Islay’s Traigh Bhan beach, known locally as the Singing Sands.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan – Batch 3 is the third release in this exclusive 19 year old series.
Following in the footsteps of the batches that came before it, slight changes to cask selection mean the notes in this whisky vary from the last.
This release matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks and is the epitome of an aged Ardbeg.
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old has evolved into an overall more spicy dram. Enjoy it neat or with a splash of water to fully appreciate its complex flavour profile.
An impossibly balanced flavour profile gives rise to delicate notes of zesty lime and walnuts alongside bolder flavours of cayenne pepper and aniseed. A splash of water releases a cascade of hazelnut, sweet vanilla, and currants, before rich minted chocolate brings the nose to a close.
