Beronia’s reputation for Rioja is founded on a history of producing excellent wines consistently across volumes, year after year. In exceptional years they also produce the IIIAC. This wine is made from the best grapes of the vintage and aged for 15 months in barrels of mixed provenance. The wine shows a mix of red and blackcurrant aromas, along with plum and blueberry fruit. There is smoke and a hint of vanilla and tobacco from the oak. The palate is intense, medium bodied and shows ripe tannins that are matched with an elegant vein of acidity. Shows well at the moment but will improve with further ageing.
