Bodegas Peique Tinto Mencía Ramón Valle is a delightfully mineral yet fruity Spanish red wine. It’s produced in a historic family-owned winery.
The Peique family story began in Valtuille de Abajo, a village of less than 200 people, located in the Bierzo area of León. They currently have 40 hectares of vineyards, at an altitude between 450 and 580 metres.
Mencía is the most important grape variety in the vineyards of the Peique family, comprising 98% of the grapes used in the red wines. The vines used to make this wine are over 55 years old. They aim to make wines which express the powerful terroir of the vineyard and of the region.
There is a perfect balance of fruit and complexity as a result of the time this wine spends in oak barrels – 7 months in French, Russian and American oak barrels and 5 months in bottle racks.

Elegantly scented with red and black berries, alongside a balsamic and mineral background, with a sophisticated, lively and fresh mouth feel. Sophisticated and lively. Drying tannins on the fish. Expressive, and will improve with time.
