The Peique family story began in Valtuille de Abajo, a village of less than 200 people, located in the Bierzo area of León. They currently have 40 hectares of vineyards.
Mencía is the most important grape variety in the vineyards of the Peique family, comprising 98% of the grapes used in the red wines and this wine is made from vines of between 45 and 55 years old.
The harvest is carried out manually and on the grapes arrival at the winery, they go through a pre-fermentation maceration for 3-5 days at a low temperature.
Maceration and alcoholic fermentation are carried out in stainless steel vats and once the fermentation has finished, the wine is left to rest with its fine lees for 2 months before being bottled.
Black cherry in colour with intense violet hues.
Red and black fruit, mineral and floral aromas.
The palate is full and fleshy fleshy, with flavours of red fruit and subtle spice.
