Champagne André Robert Les Jardins du Mesnil is made from a variety of small plots located in Mesnil-sur-Oger, from premium grower champagne house André Robert.
This blend reflects the diverse soils of the hillside, each with its own structure, elevation, and exposure to sunlight. All the plots face directly east, benefiting from the morning sun.
Winemakers create the cuvée from a careful selection of vineyards, including those in the plains like Les Hautes Mottes and Les Coullemets,and from low-yielding plots at the heart of the terroir. These include Les Coullemets du Midi, Les Finciarts, Les Vaucherots, Les Hauts d’Aillerand, Les Musettes, and the higher slopes.
The grape variety of Champagne André Robert Les Jardins du Mesnil is 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru from Le Mesnil sur Oger.
Winemaking
Blend: Base Wine Harvest 2018 (60%) and Solera “Les Jardins du Mesnil” (40%)
Barrel Fermentation: 60% fermented in 228-liter oak barrels
Tank Fermentation: 40% of the wine is fermented in tanks on fine lees
Bottling: July 2019
Dosage: 3g/L
Producer’s tasting notes
Nose: expressive, with aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, as well as slightly buttery notes.
Palate: fresh, with notes of minerality and just-ripe fruits.
Finish: lengthy, sophisticated and delicate.
