Château de Breuil 8 Year Old Calvados is a deliciously rich Normandy Calvados made using top-quality apples.
The apples are subjected to blending and pressing. They are carefully washed and treated to extract the pulp of the fruit on the one
hand, and the must on the other, which must macerate for at least 6 weeks before reaching the alcohol content required for distillation, i.e. 4.5% vol. minimum.
This “Appellation du Pays d’Auge Contrôlée” Calvados ages slowly in oak casks. The cellar manager personally controls it for quality. This fine blend aged at least 8 years. It boasts a light body and delicate fruity notes. It has a bouquet of walnut, almond and vanilla.
Overall, an authentic Calvados in the proud Norman tradition. Awarded many times for its outstanding quality, this is one for newbies and connoisseurs alike.
Enjoy Château de Breuil 8 Year Old Calvados neat or on the rocks, traditionally between two savoury courses of a large meal. It also shines mixed into cocktails, especially ones with a coffee base.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Intense amber.
Nose: Subtle notes of crystallised apple, vanilla, and, finally, honey and walnut.
Palate: Smooth and round, beautiful balance between the fruit, wood, and then persistent final notes, dominated by fresh walnut.
