Disznókő Tokaji ‘1413’ Edes Szamorodni Aszu is a delightful medium-bodied sweet wine. It utilises 100% Furmint grapes, Hungary’s traditional flagship variety.

First Growth since 1732 and part of the World Heritage Site of Tokaj declared in 2002, the Disznókő vineyards have always been sought-after due to their supreme quality. With its know-how and experience in Aszu winemaking, Disznókő today occupies a position at the forefront of the renaissance of the truly great Tokaji wines.

Acclaimed as one of the most favourable sites for Aszu in Tokaj, the Disznókő estate is a single tract of land of 104 hectares, planted with noble grape varieties of the Tokaj Wine Region, mainly Furmint. Producers hand-pick grapes in full or part-clusters. Some are very ripe, some covered with noble rot, some of Aszu quality. However, all are selected at the very end of the harvest in late October/early November.

The grapes enjoyed a short period of skin contact for additional texture. The wine then aged for 12 months in oak barrels after fermentation.

Notes of peach and other fresh fruits, citruses, together with floral and almond aromas. Rich, but perfectly balanced; quite broad and creamy with a lovely long finish. Still young with excellent ageing potential.

Enjoy Disznókő Tokaji ‘1413’ Edes Szamorodni Aszu well chilled as an accompaniment to subtly sweet desserts or creamy cheeses.
