Dom Pérignon Champagne takes its name from Dom Pérignon (1638–1715), a Benedictine monk and cellar master at the Benedictine Abbey in Hautvillers.

He played a pivotal role in pioneering winemaking techniques that are now fundamental to the production of Champagne. Dom Pérignon is a vintage Champagne, crafted only in exceptional years.

Each vintage is a unique creation, showcasing both the character of the harvest and the signature style of Dom Pérignon.

Chef de Cave, Vincent Chaperon, ensures that each Champagne spends at least eight years maturing in the cellar. This results in a wine that embodies the perfect balance and harmony of Dom Pérignon.

Half of the grapes come from Grands Crus vineyards, and a quarter from Premiers Crus vineyards. The vines are cultivated in the renowned chalky soil of the Champagne region.

This terroir, rich in minerals, is famous for producing wines with refined acidity, complexity, and finesse, often contributing to the Champagne’s longevity and ageing potential. The focus on quality grapes from these grand and premier crus ensures that the wines are exceptional, representing the best of what the region offers.

There are subtle floral hints of honeysuckle, with a distinctive minerality reminiscent of wet stone. A touch of toasted almonds and light brioche adds an extra dimension.

On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced with a creamy, full-bodied texture. The refreshing acidity is well integrated, and the flavours of citrus and ripe orchard fruits come through. There is also a with a delicate touch of honey. There’s a distinct chalky minerality that adds elegance, while toasted hazelnut and fine pastry notes emerge, enhancing the complexity and depth.

The finish is long and refined, leaving lingering notes of citrus peel, almond, and a soft, creamy aftertaste. The mineral backbone remains prominent, offering a crisp and refreshing conclusion that encourages another sip.
