This is the 13th expression of the superb Laphroaig Cask Strength. The Batch 13 is released at 57.9% ABV.
Original Cask Strength Laphroaig is bottled at natural distillery strength with all the depth of genuine taste and texture normally associated with sampling whisky at source.
This Laphroaig is seasoned in Ex-Bourbon oak barrels, charred before filling, to impart a slight sweet vanilla nuttiness. Original Cask Strength Laphroaig is barrier-filtered only just, to remove the small char particles present. This means you will enjoy Laphroaig exactly as we made it.
In extremes of temperature and when you add water it may appear a little cloudy – this is the natural condition of a malt of such a peaty pungency and uncompromising purity. Adding a little water releases a rich aroma of peat smoke with some sweetness and strong hints of the sea.

Peat features heavily in Glenturret’s distilling history – records show that The Glenturret dug peat from the moss at its water source for whisky production in the early 1800s.
Today they produce a small amount of peated spirit alongside its non-peated spirit from the same small stills.
The Glenturret 10 Years Old Peat Smoked brings together the two-spirit styles of the distillery, matured in both first fill and second fill European and American oak casks. The resulting complex whisky commands a higher strength of 50% ABV.
