Louis Roederer Collection 244 Magnum is a vibrant and expressive multi-vintage champagne. It represents the house’s commitment to precision, terroir, and sustainable viticulture. Crafted from the 2019 harvest, this cuvée blends Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier from the finest vineyard sites. It results in a beautifully balanced champagne with depth, freshness, and complexity.
The name ‘244’ reflects the 244th blend made since the house’s foundation in 1776. It showcases Roederer’s evolution from Brut Premier to a more dynamic and transparent cuvée. This champagne benefits from a high proportion of ‘Perpetual Reserve’, a solera-style blend started in 2012. Aged in large oak foudres, this reserve brings richness and consistency to each edition. The addition of oak-aged reserve wines enhances depth and structure.
On the nose, Collection 244 offers aromas of ripe citrus, orchard fruits, and delicate floral notes. Hints of almond, toasted hazelnut, and brioche emerge, adding complexity. The palate is fresh, precise, and structured, with a creamy texture and vibrant acidity. Flavours of crisp apple, lemon zest, and white peach lead to a long, mineral-driven finish.
The dosage is restrained at around 8 g/L, ensuring balance and purity. This cuvée undergoes extended lees ageing, enhancing its texture and depth. The meticulous vinification process highlights Roederer’s commitment to sustainability and biodynamic farming.
Collection 244 is a versatile champagne suited to fine dining or aperitif enjoyment. It pairs beautifully with seafood, creamy cheeses, or light poultry dishes. Serve chilled at 10–12°C to appreciate its full aromatic expression.
