Mackmyra Brukswhisky is a sweet and fruity Swedish whisky matured primarily in first fill bourbon barrels and Swedish oak for a distinctive taste.
In Sweden, filtered to perfection since the Ice Age, you’ll find one of the world’s purest water sources. It is no coincidence that the distillery is located close by, with access to this crystal clear water.
Mackmyra’s Swedish barley develops a special sweetness during the long summer days, a sweetness that has become one of the cornerstones of their whisky.
A large part of Mackmyra’s whisky is stored in new Swedish oak. The Swedish oak grows slowly in Sweden’s harsh climate and gives the whisky a harsher flavour than American oak.
The whisky gets a fiery spice balanced by sweetness similar to caramelised sugar, but comes in at a gentle and approachable 41.4% ABV.
Enjoy Brukswhisky as it is, with or without ice, or mix into a whisky-forward cocktail.
Mackmyra Brukswhisky has a balanced character with fruits and butterscotch. The nose is clean with light, spicy notes.
Clear fruitiness with butterscotch, citrus and pear. Prominent notes are liquorice and mint.
The palate is fruity and slightly smoky while the aftertaste is fruity and slightly spicy.
