Unlike Bourbon or Rye, which must be aged in new oak barrels, Michter’s US*1 Unblended American Whiskey ages in whiskey-soaked barrels.
These whiskey-soaked barrels previously held Michter’s 10-year-old Bourbon, imparting rich, sweet flavours to the wood.
In late 2013, then Master Distiller Willie Pratt agreed to re-release our this whiskey after a nearly three-year absence from the market, deeming it “just right” and “the best it’s ever been.” Crucially, it never contains grain neutral spirits – hence its “unblended” distinction.
Bottled at a smooth 41.7% ABV, this is truly a whiskey for savouring.
Enjoy Michter’s US *1 Unblended American Whiskey neat or on the rocks. It also shines in a whiskey-forward cocktail like an Old Fashioned to really unlock its complex flavour profile.
