Tobalá from Montelobos is an unaged Mezcal Joven with aromas of lemon, green pepper and pear.
Meticulously crafted, artisanally produced and strikingly balanced, Montelobos mezcal is an experience unto itself.
To achieve the perfect balance of green agave sweetness and subtle smoke, they meticulously grow agave, roast it underground, wild ferment it, and distill it in small copper batches to make Tobalá.
The brand was founded by Dr. Ivan Saldana, a biologist and agave expert. His deep knowledge of the plant inspired him to create a mezcal that stays true to its ancestral roots while offering a complex, balanced flavour profile.
Aromas of lemon, liquorice, green pepper, pear and peppery spice fill the nose. Complementing these are notes of basil, roasted figs, macadamia nuts and garden herbs throughout the palate.
