Penderyn Portwood Finish Welsh Single Malt Whisky is a rich, luscious port-finished Welsh whisky with a honeyed palate.
Penderyn distillery opened in 2000 and has since received great critical acclaim. Their house style is a fruity, malty single malt. It is currently Wales’ only whisky distillery.
With a borehole on site, the all-female distilling and blending team here use the pure water of the Brecons to produce their range of whiskies.
This Portwood Finish – matured in bourbon then port barrels – is a firm favourite among its customers in France. It boasts a full body, a creamy texture and a rich flavour profile of honey and spice.
It is bottled at 46% abv. Its accolades include Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Gold at the 2021 Spirits Business World Whisky Masters.

Nose: Aromas of rich dried fruits with dark chocolate and cranberries; a hint of toasty oak mingles with a baked nutty dryness.
Palate: A creamy richness with some honey and spiced notes emerging.
Finish: Smooth with a soft oak and honey sweetness lingering gently on the tongue.
Balance: Rich wood, chocolate and dry fruits.
