Unlike most expressions, it fully matures in ex-Californian Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks. Made mainly from corn, Teeling Single Grain is carefully distilled in modern column stills. This method not only ensures a smooth and refined spirit but also enhances its distinct character. Unlike standard grain whiskeys, which are typically aged in bourbon barrels, this expression matures entirely in red wine casks. Consequently, it develops rich fruit notes, gentle tannins, and delicate spice. Moreover, the extended interaction with wine-seasoned wood adds complexity, blending sweetness with dry, oaky sophistication.
Nose: Bright and inviting, with ripe red berries, vanilla pod, and gentle spice. Furthermore, toasted oak and caramelised sugar add depth.
Palate: Silky and luscious, with bursts of red fruit compote, honeyed sweetness, and orchard fruits. In addition, soft spice, cinnamon, and white pepper balance a creamy vanilla backbone.
