The Macallan The Harmony Collection Rich Cacao is a limited edition single malt whisky. Macallan’s iconic distillery developed it in collaboration with the Michelin-starred pastry chef Jordi Roca.
Macallan whisky maker Polly Logan worked with Roca as well as Casa Cacao chocolatier Damien Allsop on this expression. It utilises whiskies aged in classic sherry-seasoned oak casks.
Crafted from a harmonious combination of European and American oak casks, this rich single malt whisky pairs in perfect harmony with fine chocolates for an elevated tasting experience.
In homage to its chocolate influence, The Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao comes in a 100% recyclable gift box, made using discarded husks from cacao pods.
A by-product in the chocolate-making process, these husks would have been sent to landfill or destroyed but have now been reborn with a renewed and delicious purpose.
Enjoy this premium Macallan expression neat or with a splash of water to fully appreciate its complex flavour profile. It also provides an elevated tasting experience when paired with premium chocolates.
Producer’s Tasting Notes
Nose: Chocolate fondant, honey, oak, zesty lime and ginger.
Palate: Dark chocolate, honey, dates, vanilla and cinnamon.
Finish: Long with rich, smooth chocolate.
