Waterford ‘Bannow Island’ Edition 1.2 Irish Single Malt Whisky is a spicy, malty Irish whisky from a premium organic producer.
Using only 100% Irish malted barley, Waterford’s Single Farm Origin series is a range of Limited Edition whiskies that explore Irish ‘Terroir’.
These whiskies are non-chill filtered with no additives or colouring.
The second edition from Bannow Island is four months older than the first edition. It uses barley grown by Ed Harpur on the extreme Southern coast of Co. Wexford where the salt-laden Atlantic winds and sandy soils create a unique and challenging terroir. As a result, this limited edition release epitomises rarity and sophistication.
For maturation 36% of the casks used were first-fill American oak, 21% were virgin American oak, 17% were French oak and 26% were previously used to age vin doux naturel (fortified wines). Producers bottled it at a robust 50% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Appearance: A honey appearance with oils that grip the glass.
Nose: A malty aroma on the nose with ripe pears, raisins and floral notes.
Taste: A long-lasting oiliness with a spicy heat finish that turns dry.
