The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old is a single malt whisky which has been matured in traditional oak whisky casks for 14 years, and then ‘finished’ in casks that previously held Caribbean rum.
Balvenie make a wonderful sweet sherried twelve year old malt. This is a couple of years older and spends some time ageing in rum barrels. This helps it develop notes of mocha and muscovado sugar. These complement its profile of toffee apples, sweet spice and Christmas pudding.
