La Crema, a family-owned winery, focuses on cool-climate appellations.
The rugged, windswept, and untamed Monterey region has vineyards with an extended growing season thanks to its cooler climate.
Winemaker Craig McAllister adds his unique touch by combining the finest Burgundian wine-making techniques with a modern Californian style.
When La Crema began in 1979, the Russian River Valley had not yet gained recognition as one of California’s premier regions for Pinot Noir.
Over the years, La Crema expanded its reach beyond the Russian River Valley to include Sonoma Coast, Green Valley, Fort Ross-Seaview, Mendocino, Carneros, and Monterey.
The winery then ventured beyond California to Oregon’s renowned Willamette Valley, where it now produces an exceptional Pinot Noir.
Across all these locations, La Crema unites the cool, windy climates and marine-influenced soils.
Aromas of cherry, rhubarb, and beets are followed by flavours of red plum, cranberry and raspberry. There is a distinct minerality, juicy acidity, and integrated notes of spice from the oak casks.
