Ironcloud Rock of Solitude Shiraz is a vibrant, fruity and spicy red wine in a characteristic New World style.
Ironcloud Estate (formerly Pepperilly Estate) lies in the picturesque Ferguson Valley, in the hills of the Geographe Wine Region, overlooking Geographe Bay, Western Australia.
The vines were planted in 1999 in highly prized red gravelly loam soils and the estate comprises of a single vineyard of 28 acres comprising hand-tended Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, Malbec, Touriga, Saparavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
James Halliday recently gave the winery a rare five-star rating.
Shiraz grapes were machine-harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The ferments were then pumped over twice a day. Post alcoholic fermentation, winemakers pressed it to tank before racking off to barrel for malolactic fermentation and maturation.

Colour: Vibrant deep ruby-red to purple with violet hints.
Nose: Aromas of lifted blackberry and blueberries with a whiff of black pepper and spices from the oak.
Palate: Rich, warm, smoked meat notes with big, ripe tannins. Powerfully structured.
Finish: Generous but soft and protracted, then with lashings of vanilla oak.
