Ichiro’s Malt Mizunara Wood Reserve is an incredibly complex pure malt whisky.
It is crafted from various single malts that are blended and then finished in Japanese Oak casks, known as Mizunara.
This process imparts a unique flavour profile and character to the whisky.

Japanese Oak, or Mizunara, is incredibly rare and expensive, making it a seldom-used material for whisky barrels.

However, the unique and highly prized flavour it imparts includes notes of perfume and incense, creating a rich and decadent flavour and texture exclusive to this type of oak.

The Mizunara casks give the whisky earthy notes of incense, rich sandalwood, and aloe woods. It is complemented by a touch of white pepper and fresh citrus peels.

The palate enjoys a pleasing ginger note with fragrant wood spices and honey, finishing with dark chocolate and a subtle hint of smoke.
