Aluna Tropica Rum is a rich spiced rum combining the enticing South Asian flavours of pandan leaf, spiced pineapple, lemongrass and galangal.
Aluna’s rum uses first-press sugar cane fermented with yeast from the pineapple plant. This creates a light, floral and smooth rum with a natural subtle sweetness to which the producers add selected classic, young Caribbean rums to give classic rum character and strength, creating an elegant, balanced blend.
Pandan, lemongrass and galangal are staple ingredients in Thai cooking. When combined with the freshness of pineapple and the smoothness of Aluna’s base rum they create a deliciously unexpected spicy flavour profile.
It’s created at the Aluna headquarters in Surrey, England. They’re a new brand, founded by a group of friends. They focus on making drinks with natural ingredients and reduced sugar. They make all their drinks mindfully. Moreover, they donate a minimum of 1% of their sales to environmental non-profit organisations.
